A Wealth of Experience

Rees Group is one of Melbourne’s most experienced advisory & accounting firms. We have over 70 years of experience in taxation and business advice. Since first opening our doors in 1950, we’ve helped thousands of clients grow, expand and transform their businesses.

In those 70 years, the world around us has drastically transformed. Economic reforms, recessions, technological disruption – the financial playing field is always changing. Over the years, we’ve watched Melbourne grow from a sleepy backwater into a truly international city. And we’ve watched many of our clients grow with it.

Every step of the way, we’ve been there to guide them with a steady, experienced hand. We’re more than just taxation advisors. We help businesses identify growth opportunities and develop competitive advantages.

We specialise in helping businesses create succession plans and manage intergenerational wealth transfers. Now, many of our second and third-generation clients have been with us for decades. Our clients stick with us because we know about the history of their business. We believe in their goals and we understand their circumstances.

For the last 22 years, Rees Group has been led by Justin Mastores. Justin started as an accountant at Rees in 1993 before becoming a Partner in 1999. He’s been a Managing Partner since 2002. Justin brings outstanding advisory experience. Over his career, he has sat on the board of directors for several companies and organisations.

Justin’s friendly, hands-on approach embodies Rees Group’s dedication to their client’s success. He’s genuinely passionate about helping others succeed. Over the past two decades, Justin has helped guide Rees in exciting and progressive new directions.  Rees Group is now able to add a high level of experience to transactions of up to $30 million. We offer extensive advisory experience around sales and acquisitions, including:
